In Asia Minor, the Persians crush the Ionian Greek revolt at the Battle of Lade. Because of the involvement of Athens and Eretria in the revolt, Darius begins planning an invasion of Greece proper. Persian forces were defeated 4 years later, however, at Marathon, thus ending the first Persian invasion of Greece.
